What it is

ccshare (built as the open-source project "manycode") lets you share a live Claude Code terminal session with a six-character code, AirDrop style. A friend joins from their own terminal or just opens a link in a browser, no install required, and up to five people can type into the same agent session at once. It's free, open source, and built specifically for pairing on AI coding agents instead of screen-sharing around one keyboard.

Verdict

Where it wins and loses

Pros

  • Genuinely multiplayer: everyone in the session can type, not just watch
  • Works over plain WiFi or a free tunnel, no port forwarding setup
  • Joining needs nothing installed, just a browser tab
  • Open source with no telemetry and no account requirement
  • Read-only spectator mode for demos without handing over control

Cons

  • Young project, so expect rough edges and a smaller community than established tools
  • Best experience is still terminal-based, which asks more of non-developers
  • No built-in session history or recording once the share ends

If you've ever tried to pair-program on a coding agent over a screen share, ccshare fixes the actual problem (only one person can type) and it costs nothing to try.
